Anne and Nanette collaborating…
Anne worked for three years as research and editorial assistant to Nanette J. Davis, Ph.D. in the writing of her book, Blessed is She… Elder Care: Women’s Stories of Choice, Challenge and Commitment. Dr. Davis and Anne co-authored Families in Crisis: a case study of Elder Caregivers, a peer-reviewed paper for the journal, New Directions in the Humanities, which they delivered at a conference in Cambridge University, U.K., in 2005. That same year, Anne published Aunt Mary’s Confession in “Creative Environments for Innovative Learning: Voices and Visions,” an online journal.
In April of 2009, Anne was honored as Outstanding Family Caregiver by Elder Service Providers of Whatcom County, Bellingham, Washington.
October, 2009: An excerpt of another book project by Anne, titled, From Both Sides of the River, was published in the online literary journal, www.scrollinspace.com.
May, 2010: Scroll In Space published, With Cedar, a short story by Anne Mikkelsen.
January, 2011, Diamedica Publishing, N.Y., published Anne’s book Take Charge of Parkinson’s Disease: Dynamic Lifestyle Changes to put you in the Driver’s Seat. The same year, Anne published From Both Sides of the River: A Family Portrait, under the Willlow Island Press imprint.
Her new book, co-authored with her husband Mike, The Dodge: Guts, Glory and Living at Full-Throttle, will be released in March 2012 by Willow Island Press. The Dodge, both a prequel and a sequel to Take Charge, and spanning a period of 70 years, is more than a book about a man and his car. It is about a life, a love and a commitment showing us how the car/man bond was life-sustaining for both.
Anne’s short story “With Cedar” and an excerpt from her book, titled ”From Both Sides of the River” have been selected for publication in the anthology, Scroll in Space: Selected Stories, scheduled for release early 2013, by Scroll Press, Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.
April, 2012: Take Charge of Parkinson’s Disease, was named #4 on Library Journal’s Top 20 Best Selling Small Press Books most in demand by book stores and libraries.
July 27, 2012: The Dodge: Guts, Glory and Living at Full Throttle, #1 Best Selling book at The Country Bookshelf, Montana’s largest Indie Book Store.

Anne and Mike: We plan to buy the book — the title reminded us hat Kathy inherited a ’68 Dart from an uncle. We drove that thing for many years. The slant six was virtually indestructible. Congratulations on the impending publication of “Dodge.”

Hey You Two!
What a nice e-visit. Your pots are well-crafted as your writing always was.
Doing what you love now? What car did you have Kathy?
You’ll recognize a large chunk of our lives back there. . .with you.
